Date: August 21, 2008
Time: 7:30 p.m.
Come and hear this impressive singer/songwriter from Asheville. Trained under Dusan Boganovic and Apostolos Paraskevas in the classical tradition, Moses has recently reached back into the American roots music that brought him to the guitar in the first place. From blues masters like Mississippi John Hurt and Skip James, to 60s folk legends Woody Guthrie and Townes Van Zandt, to contemporaries such as Tom Waits and Kelly Joe Phelps, Moses Atwood is carving his tremendous raw talent into a powerful, yearning musical voice. Over the next several years he plans to sculpt a truly great contribution to American music. Find out more about the man and his music at Moses Atwood

Date: August 30, 2008
Time: 8:00 p.m.
“Every Mother's Dream, is an Asheville-based folk-pop group that has only gotten better since debuting in 2001. Jay Kaiser and Mandy Carter work wonderfully together, and have long been one of the area's best-kept musical secrets. Now using a full-band format that incorporates jazzy, funky, jammy elements and fills out the duo's music, EMD is definitely worth a listen.”
